Profile

Pilot Club of Honolulu is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) service organization that was founded in 1981 with the same guiding principles as established by Pilot International. Pilot Club of Honolulu is committed to “Do More, Care More and Be More” in our communities every day. Pilot Club of Honolulu members volunteer and meet regularly to provide financial and hands-on support for numerous national and local initiatives in keeping with Pilot International’s ABC’s (Anchor Clubs-Youth Development & Leadership, Brain Safety & Fitness, and Caring for Families in Times of Need).

Our History
Pilot International was chartered on October 18, 1921 in Macon, Georgia, U.S.A. by Elizabeth Leonard and forty local businesswomen. Pilot International is a community-based, volunteer, service organization founded on the guiding principles of “Friendship and Service.” Today, Pilot Clubs are home to thousands of service-minded men and women, adult and youth, from all walks of life, in countries around the world. Pilots remain dedicated to the principles of Friendship and Service by bringing care and kindness to those in need. The historic inspiration for the name “Pilot” was inspired by the riverboat pilots who would steer a
true course through calm or troubled waters. The riverboat pilots of that day also embodied leadership and guidance.

Kids Fest - Hawaii Pacific Health
This year PCH members volunteered and helped sponsor the Teddy Bear Clinic. Children receive a teddy bear and learn what to expect when they check-in to the hospital. Over 1,000 teddy bears were given away that day!

Lanakila Pacific - Meals on Wheels
Lanakila Pacific is largest and only island-wide delivery program in Hawaii for seniors on Oahu. Each year PCH members volunteer to pack nutritious meals for delivery.

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Hawaii
PCH members have prepared and delivered home cooked meals for families with children being treated at Honolulu area hospitals.

Salvation Army Angel Tree Project

Select from children and senior names on one of the Christmas trees set up at shopping malls. The holidays are not the same without PCH members volunteering to get gifts delivered to as many chosen "Angels" before Christmas.

Special Olympics Hawaii - Summer Games
PCH sponsors the Standing Long Jump event at the summer games. Each year PCH along with family, friends and our sister club, Leeward Pilot Club, join in on a fun morning cheering on the athletes.
